HB 48 - This act revises certain provisions relating to embalmers and funeral directors. The act allows for applicants to receive a limited license to work only in an establishment licensed for cremation. The applicant must make application and must pay an application and examination fee. The applicant must pass the Missouri law examination but will be exempt from the 12 month apprenticeship. Limited licensees may receive a full license upon completion of the 12 month apprenticeship and practical examination. The board must either grant or deny applications for licenses within 30 days and applicants may request up to two 30 extensions of the application. The board may issue a new license to a licensee within 2 years of the renewal date, otherwise it shall be void.
